just feel that you will require more than just one shot in your cross cut section - when the girl leaves college, you are likely to require several shots , walking to lift, pressing the lift button, door opening - not as one shot but as three shots. Equally the car - maybe one shot activating the remote control lock on keys, one shot showing flashing unlock of car, one shot opening door - so three shots in total. Don't underestimate how many shots you require and these are often opportunities for Match on actions.
